Step by step

Unpack and smooth out

Carefully remove the poster from the shipping mailer. Lay it flat on a clean table. Since our posters are shipped flat, they are usually ready to frame immediately.

Tip: Hold the poster by its edges to avoid fingerprints on the print surface.

Open the frame

Turn the frame over and release the metal clips on the back. Remove the backing board and – if present – the mat. Carefully set the glass aside.

Tip: Clean the glass with a lint-free cloth before placing the poster.

Insert the poster

Place the poster face-down onto the glass. Make sure it is evenly aligned and no creases form. If you are using a mat, place it on top of the poster now.

Tip: With mat frames like the RIBBA, it looks particularly elegant when the poster is centred behind the cut-out.

Close the backing

Place the backing board back on and press the metal clips firmly into position. Make sure everything lies flat and nothing has shifted.

Hang up and enjoy

Hang the frame where you want it. Most IKEA frames already have a hanging fixture on the back. Use a spirit level for a perfectly straight result.

Tip: Poster triptychs (3-piece sets) look best with 3–5 cm spacing between the frames.
